The beautiful Honey Brook Golf Club was the venue for a Garden of Giving cancer fundraiser on Sept. 10 to help with medical bills for the Oliva family of Honey Brook. The family’s dentist, Dr. Marsha M. Kirschner, started the idea, and a team of people worked for many months to make this a special evening of generosity and giving.

After a hot and humid day, a refreshing breeze came in during the event, very symbolic of the refreshment that the sponsors and guests gave this grateful family of five. A Silent Auction featuring over 50 items to bid on made for an evening of fun. The WH Dance Academy of Reading offered some lively entertainment with dancing and lessons for the guests, and “DJ Dave”, all the way from Pittsburgh, provided music for a festive time, as friends of the family came to show support.

The generosity of many made the night possible. Special recognition is deserved by the following local businesses and individuals who sponsored the event: Marsha M. Kirschner, DMD, PC, BODIOTICS, LLC., Bentley Systems, Inc., Denise and Richard Nyce, Knies Insurance Group, September Farm, John B. Pardini, Jr., DMD, MSD, Honey Brook Area Community Partnership, The Karen Schaefer Fund, and Brian D. Taylor. We Kare at Exton. Keller Williams also made a generous donation to support the event.

The Oliva’s are extremely touched by the kindness, shown not only at this fundraiser, but throughout the last year during all the cancer treatments, as people’s prayers and well wishes have poured in to them.

On this night, the Garden of Giving was truly blossoming with love, and you could feel it in the air. A very big thank you to all who came, to the sponsors, to all who made donations of either money or items, and to all who contributed through the Silent Auction. The night was a large success and will remain a very special memory to those who witnessed the outpouring of love.
