There’s a fun-filled day of music, food, and history at the second annual Keim Music Fest from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Jacob Keim Farmstead in Oley. This event is a one-day music event held outdoors to raise awareness and restoration funds for the Keim Farmstead, a property owned by the Historic Preservation Trust of Berks County.

The Music Fest will consist of two music stages including a kid’s stage. On the Main Stage, there will be Rick Sky, Caroline Reese, Practical Saints, Rhythm Road, Michael Clipman and Tom Singer. The Oley Valley Public Library, Mr. Mike (Michael Kropp) Makin’ Music, Jen Schorr “Marcaroni Kids Talent Show,” Nancy Riggins (Valley Music Together), and Silly Joe Sings! will join us on the Kid’s Stage. The schedule also includes a Drum Circle with Earth Rhythms and Singer Songwriter, Mike Holliday with a “Jammin’ Circle.’ Clay on Main and Macaroni Kid will provide activities for children. The Keim Farmstead will be open for tours and visitors can enjoy a rare look inside this beautiful, historic home boasting excellent examples of eighteenth century German-influenced architecture. Built in 1753, the home is a two and a half story limestone structure with several walk-in fireplaces, large chimneys, and segmented arches over the exterior openings.
