Travis Wetzel Trio will liven up the Reinholds Fire Company Oct. 1

Farm Country Shindig opens its 2016-2017 season on Saturday, Oct. 1 featuring “The Travis Wetzel Trio” at the Reinholds Fire Company Banquet Hall.

Travis Wetzel is a dynamic musician. His music includes Celtic, Native American, gospel and country along with Bluegrass music. He is a lead fiddler but you will find him playing the mandolin, guitar and doing vocals. He has worked on countless recording projects and has performed and recorded with artists such as Bill Monroe, Jesse McReynolds, Del McCoury, Doyle Lawson and Mac Wiseman. He now resides in the Nashville, Tennessee area and plays with Jesse McReynolds, performing at bluegrass festivals and on the Grand Ole Opry.

He has performed at the Rayburn Building in Washington, D.C. for the House of Representatives with Congressman Ben “Cooter” Jones of the Dukes of Hazzard fame. He had a lead part in the Johnny Cash musical “Ring of Fire” at the Roxy Theater in Clarksville, Tennessee. Wetzel can be heard almost every week on The Grand Ole Opry with the legendary Jesse McReynolds. He was first introduced on the Opry with Jim & Jesse in October 2002.

Also appearing will be Ideltymes Bluegrass Band who offer you a unique blend of hard-driving straight forward bluegrass music with tight, high harmonies. This band is comprised of talented musicians with deep bluegrass roots and blended harmonies creating an undeniable sound that will leave you wanting more. The band has been performing throughout the eastern U.S. since 1985.

There is a requested donation of $15 per adult with a lower cost ($10) for teens 13 to 17. Children 12 and under are admitted free.
