State Police Hamburg responded to an overdose at Sheetz, 554 Shoemaker Ave., Shoemakersville at 11:13 a.m. on Sept. 30.
A 45-year-old man from Orwigsburg overdosed on heroine while seated in the back seat of a vehicle.
According to State Police, two other people, from Saint Claire, were in the vehicle at the time and called 9-1-1 when the Orwigsburg man became unresponsive. They remained with him and performed CPR until EMS personnel arrived.
The 45 year old was revived and transported to a local hospital.
State Police report that no charges are being filed due to Title 35 P.S. 780-113.7 which grants immunity based on an overdose response.
A 1-year-old child was also in the back seat in a car seat.
Police did not release any names.
