Charlie J. Adams, author of Ghost Stories of Berks County, will be recounting some of the most thrilling and chilling local tales at the Daniel Boone Homestead on October 8. The event begins at 6P.M, and admission includes candlelight tours of the Bertolet cabin. $15 for adults, $10 for children (5 to 17). (Members & children under 5 free). Signed copies of Adams’ books will also be for sale.
The Daniel Boone Homestead is the birthplace of the famed frontiersman, born in 1734. The Boone House, constructed in three stages throughout the eighteenth century, is a 10-room stone structure fully furnished to the period and situated on 579 acres of rolling countryside. The Daniel Boone Homestead is located halfway between Reading and Pottstown, one mile north of Rt. 422 near Baumstown. The Homestead is owned by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission and daily historic operations are run by the Friends of the Daniel Boone Homestead, a local, non-profit organization.
