Exeter Police look for suspects in tool theft from ‘haunted house’

EXETER >> Police are investigating the theft of more than $1,000 worth of tools stolen from inside an area haunted house attraction.

Police said in a release Thursday that sometime overnight between Oct. 4 and Oct. 6, unknown suspects forced their way into a “haunted house” that was under construction at the Trout Run Sports Complex.

Police said the lock on the door had been pried open and over $1,000 worth of tools were stolen from inside.

The power tools belong to a resident who volunteers every year to build the “haunted house” for residents who attend the township’s annual Halloween Hayride and Haunted House.

Items stolen include a Ryobi compound sliding miter saw, angle grinder, drill, impact driver, reciprocating saw, work lights, air compressor, pneumatic stapler a DeWalt Impact driver, dry wall screws and drill bits.
