Three Mt. Aetna Lions Club members were honored as Legacy Lions when Lions District 14-P District Governor Gustave Meyer III made his visitation to the Mt. Aetna Lions Club of the Tulpehocken area recently. Together they have given over 150 years Lions service to the club and the community as well as impacting the world in various ways through Lions International. After complimenting the club on its work and activities, the District Governor presented certificates that recognized these Lions for their “selfless dedication, devotion and service in accord with the ideals, values and standards of Lionism.” So recognized were Lion Bill Keener with 57 years service, Lion Gerald Troutman with 55 years and, in absentia, Lion Earl Miller with 57 years. Each said the most meaningful project in those many years of service was building the playground that has served and still serves Mt. Aetna families.
