The Daniel Boone Optimist Club has announced their annual Halloween Parade – set to be held Tuesday, Oct. 27, in Amity Gardens located in Douglassville.

Registration for the parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. until 6:15 p.m. at the Amity Recreation Facilities on Lake Drive. All entrants must register prior to the start of the parade in order to participate and be eligible for judging. The parade is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.

Refreshments will be served at the recreation facilities at all registered parae participants at the conclusion of the parade. Food vendors will also be available.

The Daniel Boone Marching Band will be participating as well as local fire companies and other organizations.

Local police officials will be providing assistance with traffic flow and street closures. Parking will be available at the baseball field behind the recreational facilities on Lake Drive. No parking will be allowed on Lake Drive between Park Lane and Rosewood Drive. In addition, the parking lots located at the recreational facilities will be closed except to parade and police vehicles.

Cash prizes will be awarded for outstanding individual costumes and group presentations in the following categories: Children – ages 5 years and under; Children – ages 6 years through 10 years; Children – 11 years and over; Small Groups – 5 or less members; Large Groups – 6 or more members; Motorized Units and Float; Pets.

All local organizations and groups are invited to partake in the festivities. Floats are encouraged. Floats with political themes are not permitted.

Music will be provided by One 2 One Productions.
