As part of the recent, nationwide Fire Prevention Week, firefighters from the Union Fire Company in Hamburg showed off equipment and talked about fire safety for students and staff at Tilden Elementary Center.
In the photos, students saw a demonstration of how firemen use extraction equipment to free someone in a car accident. In addition, firemen discussed all the various equipment in a fire truck. Two students helped Fire Chief Troy Hatt demonstrate “Stop, Drop and Roll,”
Also, the faculty and staff at Tilden had a “jeans day” and made a donation to the Union Fire Company. Presenting the check to Hatt is Tilden Principal Lacie Cucciuffo. Third and fourth grade students show some fire safety education items the fire company gave to students.
