Elverson >> Melynda Wagner, local business woman and entrepreneur, is at it again. This year she celebrates with her mother six years as co-owners of local consignment shop, French Creek Boutique located on Route 23 in Elverson.
Now Wagner, has launched her second business as owner of French Creek Wellness Studio at the same location in Elverson. She looks at it as a natural progression from fashion to health and wellness.
The French Creek Wellness Studio celebrated its Grand Opening on Oct. 22. Local vendors, practitioners, instructors were on hand to discuss the various programs that will be offered at the studio. Plus, chair massages were offered, raffle prizes,and refreshments were enjoyed.
“Two years ago, I had a huge health wake up call,” said Wagner. “I said yes to eating healthier and fueling my body with amazing nutrition. This transformation sent me down a path to open up my wellness studio to help and educate others in our community of the benefit of living a healthy and active lifestyle.”
In the boutique, she would see many of her customers come in and try clothing on and be disappointed that it didn’t fit them and put it back on the rack, feeling disappointed and frustrated once again. She felt the same way when I kept creeping up in sizes.
“Many times in order for people to change and work on themselves, they just need to be educated on nutrition and be accountable to someone other than themselves.”
Wagner said that her purpose is to create an amazing meeting space where people can gather and discuss health related issues, be empowered to become better versions of themselves and ultimately provide a safe place for many to come, exercise and meet others while making new friends.
“Life is becoming more and more hectic for everyone of all ages. I wanted to create an environment for learning and rejuvenating for the mind, body and spirit so that we can refresh, reboot and replenish to move throughout our days without stress and tensions weighing us down.”
The French Creek Wellness Studio will also host educational seminars and wellness workshops as well as hold yoga, pilates, circuit and strength training classes, therapeutic massage, meditation and Reiki energy healing sessions.
Classes are available now. Upcoming seminars will start on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and will include discussions on the power of positive self-talk, what is life coaching, guided visualization techniques, online dating secrets revealed, and mindful meditation.
