A shed fire ignited a home in Tulpehocken Township on Nov. 23. In the early stages of investigation, at this time State Police Reading consider the fire to be the result of arson.

Investigating officer State Police Trooper Janseen Herb reports that fire crews responded to a fire at a wooden shed in the front yard of a residence on Route 419, Tulpehocken Township at 11:44 p.m. on Nov. 23.

The shed was about 20 feet from the residence. Radiant heat from the shed ignited the residence. Crews battled the fire into the early morning hours on Thanksgiving Day.

Considered a total loss, total estimated damage to the property is $25,000.

The property was vacant at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported. No other properties were damaged.

Investigation continues.
