It’s Holiday Lights time again at Grings Mill! We have a special event for photographers this year on Wednesday, Dec. 7, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Gring’s Mill Recreation Area Pavilion, Wyomissing.

If you love to capture the beauty of holiday light displays, but have always found it to be a difficult challenge, then join professional photographer, Valerie Hoffman, as she leads us on a photo tour of the grounds.

Instruction will be given on what are the best settings and techniques to use to come away from almost any nighttime scene with great results. This walk is specifically for those with a DSLR camera. Any lens will do, but a wider angle lens, such as an 18-55 or 18-105mm is suggested. A tripod is also a necessity, as long exposures are the key to getting the images you are looking for.

This event will be entirely outside, so dress for the weather. Also bring a flashlight so you can more easily make adjustments to your camera in the dark.

Space is limited. Register by calling 610-374-2944 ext. 2611. Please meet at Gring’s Mill pavilion. Class is free, but you must pay the $5/per car entrance fee for the Holiday Lights at Gring’s Mill program.

Holiday Lights at Gring’s Mill is presented by the Berks County Parks and Recreation Department.
