Need a little boost to your holiday spirit? Put on your Santa hat and head out to one or all of these events. And don’t miss out of any of the other seasonal favorites found in this holiday map.

“Colonial Wreaths & Kissing Balls” at Pottsgrove Manor

Learn about holiday decorations from the colonial era, and make your own mini-wreath and mistletoe “kissing ball” in this workshop led by Museum Educator, Lynn Symborski on Sunday, Dec. 18 from 1 to 3 p.m. Crafters may bring their own greens or use those provided at the session.

Ages: 12 & up; fee: $5 per person for materials; class size is limited to 10; registration & payment is required by Dec. 13, 2016.

Kristkindlmarket at Daniel Boone Homestead

The historic site near Birdsboro invites you to a celebration of Kristkindlmarket with crafts, food, wine and song 4 to 9 p.m. Dec. 9-10 at 400 Daniel Boone Road. Visitors can get a combination ticket to both the Daniel Boone Homestead and Christmas at Joanna by calling 610-582-4900.

Women’s Civic Club of Schwenksville Holiday House Tour

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 10 visit four historic homes and a church. Begin the tour with a house built in 1715 by two German brothers, an 1860 farmhouse, a house on land that is farmed by 10 generations of the same family, a homestead that was at one time home to the Morgan and Boone families and Bethel Hill Methodist Church. Tickets are $20 in advance from women’s club members or from Anne Rutter at 610-287-7267. Check www.gfwcpaschwenksville.org. Five sponsoring restaurants – Moccia’s Train Stop, 1004 N. Gravel Pike, Lower Frederick; Smashing Plates, 4027 Skippack Pike, Skippack; Mr. Lee’s Asian Gourmet, 1134 N. Gravel Pike, Zieglerville; the Bay Pony Inn, 508 Old Skippack Road, Lower Salford; and 19 Bella, 3401 Skippack Pike, Worcester, are extending a special welcome to Holiday House Tour participants.

Victorian Christmas Open House at Pennypacker Mills

There is no better place to get in the Christmas spirit than at Pennypacker Mills’ Victorian Christmas Open House on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 2 to 8 p.m.! Delight in the sights and sounds of a bell choir performing classic holiday music on the mansion porch, families can visit with our Victorian Santa Claus to share Christmas wishes & a photo, and living historians will bring the mansion to life for the holidays! Enter the kitchen to see a clear toy candy demonstration. Every child wished for a piece of this sweet treat in his/her stocking at Christmas!

The Museum Shop is stocked with beautiful, vintage inspired decorations, children’s toys and books, ornaments (hand-blown glass, glass icicles, and Dresdens), clear toy candy, Wilbur Bud chocolates, and much more!

All ages; free, suggested donation $2 per person.

“The Nutcracker” at Ursinus College

International Ballet Theater presents “The Nutcracker,” with international guest artists from Russia, Ukraine, Spain, China and the USA, at the Kaleidoscope Performing Arts Center, 601 E. Main St., Collegeville. Performances will be at 2 and 7 p.m. Dec. 3. Tickets are $28, $18 for children and seniors. Visit www.ibtcompany.org.

Phoenixville Candlelight Holiday Tour

Once again, the Phoenixville Candlelight Holiday Tour will be held Saturday, Dec. 3 from 3 to 7 p.m. Held annually the first Saturday of December, the tour features beautifully decorated homes, houses of worship and adaptive re-use.

This year’s tour will feature twelve facilities including eight homes, two houses of worship, adaptive re use and the oldest house in Phoenixville. Points of interest include brass choir concerts, violin music, abundant holiday decorations including one home with a fully decorated tree on each floor, a vintage doll house, caroling, and refreshments along the way.

All tour proceeds benefit Ann’s Heart Code Blue Shelter and the Firebird Childrens Theatre. Patrons will have the opportunity to view the Ann’s Heart Shelter when visiting Sacred Heart Church, one of the most beautiful structures in Phoenixville.

Tour tickets are $25 and can be purchased online at https://phxholidaytour.weebly.com or in person at Forestas Market, Ellie’s Choice or Phoenixville Hardware (True Value). Patrons may also purchase tickets the day of the tour. Programs and tickets will be available from 2:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 145 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460. First Presbyterian Church is celebrating its 170th anniversary and will be the starting point for the tour. The brass choir concerts will be featured there. Parking for tour patrons will be available in the church parking lot across the street.
