A wanted person was captured in Hamburg Borough after a police chase on Dec. 2.

Hamburg Borough Police Chief Pedro A. Rivera reported that at 7:37 a.m. on Dec. 2, Bernville resident Chad Himmelberger, 39, was stopped by Hamburg Borough Police Officer Keven Chase in Hamburg for an expired inspection sticker.

Himmelberger provided false identification to the police due to having several warrants out for his arrest in Lebanon County and Lancaster County. He did not have a valid driver’s license.

Himmelberger then fled from the vehicle on foot to avoid apprehension.

After a foot chase, Officer Chase apprehended Himmelberger.

Members from State Police Hamburg assisted at the scene.

Himmelberger was turned over to the Berks County Sheriffs for further processing. He will be charged by Hamburg Police Department for traffic related offences, fleeing and eluding police and resisting arrest.

No injuries were sustained during the apprehension.
