Dec. 6The Two Faces of Chester County: A discussion on homelessness in Chester County will be held Tuesday, Dec. 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 7 St. Andrew’s Lane Glenmoore. The panel will include representatives of organizations that deal with homelessness and related issues. Light refreshments will be served after the discussion. Dec. 6Cookie Concert: Flute and Oboe Duets by Bach, Haydn, Telemann and selections of Christmas music, will be performed Tuesday, Dec. 6 from 9:45 to 11 a.m. at Forest Hills Mennonite Church, 100 Quarry Road, Leola. Performing are Rebecca Hartranft and Jill Sweeney. The free concert includes a short intermission with special singing from the Leola MOMS children. Cookie Plates, Jars and Frozen Dough Logs will be available for purchase to benefit Leola Moms, a ministry that has been in existence for more than 30 years providing fellowship and encouragement for mothers in the local community. Dec. 8Christmas luncheon: Honey Brook Senior Citizens will hold their Christmas luncheon on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 11:45 a.m. in the Honey Brook Presbyterian Church. Each person is asked to bring a covered dish, a $3. wrapped Christmas gift to exchange and a friend. The program will feature a sing-a-long of Christmas music. There will be no meetings in January or February.

The Low Vision Support Group: which participates with the National Macular Degeneration Support Group, will discuss guides to help persons with vision loss remain independent and safe in their environment with ease and without restrictions with Chris Ament, VisionCorps, on Dec. 8, at 3 p.m. in the Garden South Conference Room, Lower Level, at Garden Spot Village, 433 S. Dec. 9 Indoor Flea market: St. Peter United Church of Christ, Route 23, Knauertown will hold an indoor flea market on Saturday, Dec 9 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Space is available, for a nominal fee, inside Detterline Hall (there is limited table availability, please bring your own). Dec. 9-10Christkindlmarket: The Daniel Boone Homestead will be featuring its first, to be annual, Christkindlmarket on Friday, Dec. 9 and Saturday, Dec. 10 from 4 to 9 p.m. both nights. The event will feature local wineries, luminaries and Christmas lights, and Christmas gifts by local artisans. The Boone house will be lit and decorated for Christmas. The bank barn and blacksmith shop will be open as well. You can watch the blacksmith hard at work making hand forged Christmas gifts. Dec. 10Polar Express Event and Craft Show: Honey Brook Presbyterian Church is hosting a Polar Express Event and Craft Show, Saturday Dec. 10 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The Church is located at 4331 Horseshoe Pike, Honey Brook. Dec. 18Live Nativity: On Dec.18 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. (weather permitting), Take a journey back in time at Cedarville United Methodist Church, walk with a Shepherd Guide following the star of Bethlehem and visit seven scenes that tell the story of Jesus’ birth. Visit the manger — see the live animals; hear how the angels and shepherds spread the word about Jesus’ birth; see the delight of the Wise Men presenting their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh and, share in the joy of the Christmas Story as told by our grandparents. The Family Life Center will be filled with complimentary hot chocolate and cookies; free craft activities for the children, music and an opportunity to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas with your friends and family. Cedarville United Methodist Church is located at 1092 Laurelwood Road, Pottstown. This is an outside event, so please dress accordingly. Parking is free and the event is handicapped accessible.
