This morning, several students and one adult raised concern about an odor they detected in a renovated section of Boyertown Area Senior High.

All concerned parties were relocated and seen by the school nurse. The parents of the students were notified.

Once the odor was investigated by faculty and administration, it was determined that the odor came from an adhesive used to install carpeting at the building that morning in an area that is not currently being used by students.

The district contacted the Poison Control Center and followed their recommendation to ventilate the area.

Principal Dr. Brett Cooper sent an announcement to parents this morning regarding the issue. This information was also posted on the district’s website.

A call to Superintendent Richard Faidley was unreturned Wednesday.
