On Saturday, Dec. 17, the Heritage of Green Hills living community in Shillington will offer tours of the vintage model railroad, visits with Santa, holiday music and refreshments.

The public is invited to a free Open House at the community’s vintage model railroad room – an annual invitation that has drawn thousands of visitors over the years. The train room includes 405 feet of track. It was constructed entirely by Heritage residents and is maintained by the community’s Model Train Club.

The event will run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

“We believe our model train display is one of the finest in the area,” said Model Train Club member Rodney Focht. “Our annual Christmas Open House has attracted a wide range of visitors – from young children to their grandparents. Model trains are a bit of American nostalgia that captures the imaginations of visitors of any age.”

Light refreshments and music will be provided, and young attendees can visit with Santa.

The Heritage of Green Hills is located at 200 Tranquility Lane, Shillington, just off Morgantown Road/Route 10 across from The Flying Hills Golf Course.

Visitors of all ages are welcome to attend.
