A man was struck and killed by a tractor trailer truck on Interstate 78 in Greenwich Township at 11:55 p.m. on Dec. 9.
Wilby Henriquez-Vazquez, 22, Harrisburg, had been outside his vehicle because of a previous crash when the tractor trailer truck jack-knifed.
State Police Hamburg report that as Pablo Silva, 26, Sarasota, Fla., was driving a 2016 Freightliner Cascadia in the left lane of I-78 eastbound in the area of mile marker 35.8, Greenwich Township, when he was unable to maintain control of his tractor trailer truck and the trailer began to jack-knife.
As a result, the truck struck the rear of a 1999 Honda Accord, which was parked on the shoulder after being disabled from a previous crash.
The tractor trailer truck then struck Wilby Henriquez-Vazquez, 22, Harrisburg, who was outside his vehicle, the Honda Accord.
The tractor trailer then struck the rear trailer of a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia, which was unoccupied at the time of the crash.
The tractor trailer then came to a stop blocking the left lane of I-78 east while the other tractor trailer truck partially blocked the right lane eastbound.
