Jacob Hensinger, of Brandywine Heights High School and Beckham Sibiski, of Kutztown Area High School were named the Kutztown Rotary Club’s students of the month in ceremonies at the Kutztown Tavern January 4.

The award is presented to a senior from each of the schools once a month during the school year based on recommendations from their guidance counselors. The counselors, in turn, recommend on the basis of accomplishments in academics, school participation and community contribution.

Beckham is the son of Shannon and Skip Sibiski, of Kutztown, has been in the National Honor Society for the past two years and was on the soccer team that made all-county this year and last. He is the vice president of the senior class, does the morning announcements and was on the board of directors for Kutztown Strong, for which he served as student section leader.

In his community, he has participated in Wreaths Across America, the Youth Soccer Clinic and Grace for Vets. Sibiski also works at the Kutztown Pool concession stand during the summer and gives private soccer lessons.

Jacob Hensinger is the son of Matthew and Brenda Hensinger of Macungie. He is the drama club president and has been an officer of the organization since ninth grade. He is also a Mr. Brandywine candidate and a powder puff cheerleader.

Hensinger has been active in the Boy Scouts of America since the sixth grade with troop 575 and currently serves as Senior Patrol Leader. He is a member of the order of the Arrow boy scout honor society for which he has served as treasurer and chairman of the activities committee.

Hensinger has also been active with National Youth Leadership Training as a staff member, youth course director, a youth advisor and a quartermaster.
