After driving over an icy patch, a vehicle lost control and struck the building of Candy’s Ice Cream in Perry Township on Jan. 30.

State Police Hamburg report that at 9:25 p.m. on Jan. 30, Maria Campos Mondragon, 44, Temple, was driving in the northbound right lane of Route 61 in Perry Township when her 2005 Mitsubishi Galant drove over an icy patch and lost control. The vehicle exited the roadway sideways and passed through the parking lot of Candy’s Ice Cream, struck the building and then struck a parked car in the lot.

The driver was not injured.The Galant sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Candy’s Ice Cream sustained damage to the building along with the parked car, a 1998 Plymouth Breeze.

Mondragon was an unlicensed driver. Citations have been issued.
