Candles of differing colors told the story of Lions and its major components of International, District, and Club as Lions Zone Chairman Bob Argot inducted two new members into the Rehrersburg Lions Club.
Adrian and Kate Robinson of Bernville stood before the club as Zone Chair Argot shared the story of Helen Keller, who asked the Lions early in the 1900s to be Knights of the Blind, and had the duo repeat the oath of membership.
They were sponsored by Lion Nelson Beidler, who has served the club in many capacities and has helped the club grow over the years.
All club members have areas of where they can help the club, whether it is the Sunday morning monthly breakfast, the upcoming ham raffle on March 25, the work that needs to be done in the upkeep of the Lions den and playground, checking out and in the medical equipment the club loans out, assisting folks with eye care problems, the annual carnival, or whatever good works it does otherwise including donating a scholarship to a graduating senior and supporting the Keystone Fire Company Apparatus Fund.
For more information about any club activities, one can call club president B. Haag at 717-933-1544.
