FriendFest Feb. 25 benefits Optimist programs, helps Friend end poverty

FriendFest 2017 is approaching rapidly. Feb. 25 is the date for the 9th Annual FriendFest Beer and Wine tasting event to be held in Beltzner Hall on the Kutztown Fairgrounds. Featuring beer and wine tasting, live music, delicious food and various vendors, all proceeds going to help the Optimist Club of Kutztown’s children’s programs in local communities, as well as assisting Friend, Inc. end poverty and hunger in rural Northeastern Berks County.

Local wineries and breweries in Pennsylvania and along the east coast will showcase their products to hundreds of attendees. All guests must be at least 21 years of age or older, and each ticket allows entrance into one of the sessions, unlimited wine and beer tasting and a souvenir glass.

Some of the many vendors scheduled to be attending include Cottrell Brewery, Golden Avalanche Brewing Company, Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company, Saucony Creek Brewing, Stoudt’s Brewing Company, and Yards Brewing Company. Wineries expected to be attending are Deerfoot Vineyards & Winery, Kulpmont Winery, Paradox Vineyards, Sand Castle Winery, Stone & Key Cellars, and The Vineyard & Brewery At Hershey. Food vendors include Pretzel Revolution, K’Town Pub, and Yon-Yang Sweets and Treats.

Tickets are available at Colasanti Printing, 305 West Main Street in Kutztown and at Mr. Food, 342 West Main Street in Kutztown, also on the FriendFest.org website. Tickets are $25 when purchased prior to the event, $35 on the day of the event. Designated Driver tickets are $10. There are two sessions for the event, one from 3 to 6 p.m. and another from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
