Car crossed center lane for unknown reason, strikes pole and house

A car struck a pole and a house on Route 222 in Maxatawny Township on March 8. The driver was flown by helicopter to Lehigh Valley Hospital.

State Police Reading report that at 7:01 a.m. Paul Reimold, 28, Reading, was driving southbound on Route 222 when, for unknown reasons, his 2005 Honda Accord crossed over the center turn lane into the northbound lane. Then, the car struck a pole and a house.

Reimold sustained suspected serious injuries. He was taken from the scene by Kutztown Ambulance and then flown by helicopter to Lehigh Valley Hospital.

The vehicle was towed by Andres.

Reimold was cited for a summary traffic offense.

Assisting on scene were Kutztown Fire Company, Topton Fire Company and Kutztown Ambulance.

Wires were down from the pole that was struck. The road was closed in both directions.
