Miller-Keystone Blood Center has recognized 20 area organizations for their commitment to the health and welfare of our community through blood drive sponsorship.

“Our Local Leaders campaign recognizes those schools, businesses, church groups and other organizations who go above and beyond the call of duty to support their community,” said Deb Otto, Director of Donor Resources, Miller-Keystone Blood Center. “By hosting blood drives with our regional blood provider, these organizations are also supporting the MKBC Mission Statement, which is ‘Saving lives by partnering with our community to provide a continuous supply of blood products and services’.”

The following groups were acknowledged through Miller-Keystone Blood Center’s Local Leaders campaign for collecting at least 200 lifesaving units during the 2016 calendar year. The Blood Center has recognized these groups with a plaque presentation at their school, church or place of business: East Penn Manufacturing – 962 Units, Lehigh Valley Health Network – 943 Units, Daniel Boone High School – 682 Units, Reading High School – 437 Units, Amazon.com – 428 Units, Air Products – 399 Units, Palmerton Community – 346 Units, Lehigh Valley Health Network, I-78 & Cedar Crest – 333 Units, Lehigh University – 327 Units, Twin Valley High School – 305 Units, Schneider Electric – 291 Units, Liberty High School – 289 Units, Mister HotShine – 246 Units, Career Institute of Technology – 243 Units, Kutztown University – 233 Units, West Chester University – 230 Units, Lehigh Valley Health Network, Mack Boulevard – 226 Units, Reading Health System – 222 Units, Fleetwood High School – 220 Units, Governor Mifflin High School – 217 Units, and St. James Lutheran Church (Coopersburg) – 205 Units.
