Talisman Players present “George Washington Slept Here” on March 30 and 31 and April 1 at 7 p.m. and April 2 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Auditorium, 357 W. Main St., Kutztown.

After the Talisman Players’ successful production of “Fiddler on the Roof” at Schaeffer Auditorium this past summer, it’s back to the classic comedy “George Washington Slept Here” written by the famed American team of Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman.

Tom Nardone, who is directing, chose this play for it’s great blend of wonderfully funny characters brought together in a scenario familiar to many of us, moving into and hopefully renovating an old farm house in a historical Pennsylvania setting.

Once again, Talisman Players have found a cast worthy of this fine play.

Christine Storch gloriously anchors and motivates the cast as the “sharp tongued” indomitable “Annabelle” thrust into the woods of Pennsylvania by her “nature loving, history loving, adventure-seeking, risk-taking” husband- “Newton,” played masterfully by Matt Lupacckino.

They are surrounded by a mix of family, workers and friends who make every scene a joy to watch.

Anne Priester Towne plays the cantankerous rich old Aunt who visits often and stays too long, Rob Weidman plays the “farm project manager” who knows everything you didn’t really need to know about “granite, manure and trees” and Crede Cooper plays “Raymond” the kid from, well, you don’t want him as a relative.

Mix in one daughter, one boyfriend, some actors performing at the neighborhood playhouse, two neighbors-one sweet, one mean spirited, some friends and a couple of maids and you have one of the funniest plays you’ll have see.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. For reservations are encouraged. Call 347-728-4459.
