A Womelsdorf man was killed after his vehicle rolled numerous times on Route 501 in Bethel Township at 1:15 a.m. on March 24.
State Police Hamburg report that Charles Wissinger, 36, Womelsdorf, was driving north on Route 501 about .4 miles north of Mill Road in Bethel Township when his 2000 Audi failed to negotiate a right curve due to excessive speed. The vehicle traveled across the southbound lane, struck a snow embankment on the west side and rolled over numerous times.
Wissinger was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
