Kutztown Community Partnership invites area artists to participate in its third annual Art Soiree on May 4 to 6. Artists’ works will be displayed in participating stores in the Kutztown business district. All media are welcome.
Opening receptions will take place individually at each location on Thursday, May 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. and works will continue to hang through Saturday, May 6. Venues will be encouraged to provide a welcoming atmosphere for the reception with refreshments, music and more.
Artists should submit three digital samples of their work by April 7 to KCP at kcp@hometownu.com. A $15 entrance fee will be due upon acceptance regardless of the number of works shown, but there will be no royalty charge. There will be no cost for those not accepted for the show. The number of artists accepted will be determined by the quantity of merchants participating.
Merchants will be charged $25 for participation and will be contacted directly.
Any artistic medium is acceptable including photography, works on paper, freestanding art, paintings, etc. Artists, especially those with freestanding work will need to negotiate the details of display with their assigned venue. Artist and merchant pairings will be made after all applications are completed.
