Rep. Barry Jozwiak (R-Berks) issued the following statement after voting for the state budget that was approved by the state House and now makes its way to the state Senate for consideration.

“This budget bill would cut spending and includes no new taxes, no new borrowing and would invest additional dollars in education,” he said. “We advanced a budget bill that brings expenses in line with anticipated revenues and respects the taxpayers of Pennsylvania. We proactively approved this budget bill in the beginning of April in an effort to ensure Pennsylvania has a balanced, on-time state budget. We took a comprehensive look at the Commonwealth’s expenditures and identified areas where we were able to realize some savings for taxpayers.

While this budget is fiscally restrained, it also provides important funding for public safety programs and other core functions of government. This budget represents a balanced approach that recognizes the Commonwealth’s current financial situation.”
