Buffy Dunkelberger, nursing home administrator at The Lutheran Home at Topton, received the Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award at the national convention of the American College of Health Care Administrators, held in St. Louis on April 4.

The award recognizes both excellence in leadership and the overall “top performance” of The Lutheran Home at Topton, based on national quality metrics, occupancy levels and three years of government survey data. According to the national association, fewer than 9 percent of skilled nursing facilities nationwide qualify.

“We are very proud of Buffy for her leadership skills and of all of the staff members of The Lutheran Home at Topton for achieving such excellence in quality care,” says Monique Cole, executive director of the Diakon senior living community.
