WEST POTTSGROVE >> A three-alarm fire has caused thousands of dollars worth of damage at Universal Concrete Friday morning.
The fire at 400 Old Reading Pike was reported at 4:41 a.m., according to Drew Yanos, deputy chief of West End Fire Company.
Authorities said wooden frames had been burning and when crews arrived, approximately 150 feet by 40 feet of material had been burning inside the building.
Additionally, Yanos said there had been no sprinkler system in place and that West End called several other departments for backup.
Authorities were on the scene until around 9 a.m. but said the only major issues with putting out the fire were the location and the large size of the building.
Everyone inside the building was able to safely evacuate and no injuries were reported.
Minimum damage was done to the building itself but building owners estimated that about $250,000 in damage to concrete casting, an overhead crane, wood framing and other items resulted from the fire, Yanos said.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the West Pottsgrove Township Fire Marshal.
