A Hamburg man was arrested while panhandling for money in a parking lot in Tilden Township. Jeremiah Roth, 39, was taken into custody for a misdemeanor warrant.

Tilden Township Police report that Tilden Police were dispatched to the parking lot outside Gamestop, 1740 Tilden Ridge Drive, Tilden Township, Berks County at 6:12 p.m. on April 11 for a report of a man panhandling. He was approaching people and asking them for money. Although panhandling is not illegal, an officer responded to the area anyway.

The man was known to the officer as Roth and was known to have a warrant. Roth was taken into custody on a misdemeanor warrant for sale or illegal use of certain solvents and noxious substances. He was transported to the Berks County Central Processing Center where he was turned over to sheriff’s deputies.

Hamburg Borough Police assisted with the arrest.
