A motorcyclist from Allentown was killed in a collision with an SUV at the intersection of State Street and Lyons Road in Lyons Borough at 11:28 p.m. on April 11.
State Police Reading report that Nayem Quadir, 22, Philadelphia, was driving a Mitsubishi SUV west on State Street. While making a left turn onto Lyons Road, his SUV struck a Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling east on State Street. Motorcyclist Carlos Hernandez, 23, Allentown, was thrown from the motorcycle upon impact with the SUV. Hernandez died on scene as a result from his injuries sustained in the crash.
Quadir was wearing his seatbelt and multiple airbags deployed upon impact. He was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest with minor injuries.
State Street was closed at the intersection of Lyons Road for about four hours.
This investigation remains open at this time.
