CUMRU TWP. >> Police announced Wednesday they have identified the body of a man found Tuesday in a pond.

John Trujillo Jr., 41, of Cockeysville, Md., was found dead in a pond behind a residence on the 300 block of Mount Penn Road, police said. Trujillo was discovered at around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday by the property owner as he was doing maintenance on the 36-acre property. Police were dispatched to the location shortly after the body was found.

Police said the property owner does not know Trujillo and that he does not have any information regarding the facts or circumstances related to his death, which police say is considered suspicious.

No information concerning the cause or manner of Trujillo’s death will be made available before an autopsy is performed, police said. The autopsy is scheduled for Thursday at 10 a.m.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Trujillo’s death and what led him to the location on Mount Penn Road.
