Pennsylvania State Police in Troop L invite teens to apply for Camp Cadet

The Pennsylvania State Police in Troop L (Berks, Lebanon, & Schuylkill Counties) is currently seeking candidates for Camp Cadet.

Camp Cadet will be held at Camp Manatawny Douglassville. Camp will be Aug. 13, 2017 to Aug. 19, 2017.

Camp Cadet is a police oriented summer camp for boys and girls who are 12 – 15 years of age. All camp activities are supervised by a counseling staff of state and local law enforcement. Candidates must reside in Berks, Lebanon and Schuylkill counties.

Cadets selected will see presentations by law enforcement (bomb squad, SERT, patrol, K-9, aviation, FBI, computer crimes).

Non law enforcement presentations recently included have been water rescue and fire service.

Cadets also participate in marksmanship, swimming, horseback riding, volleyball, and kick ball.

Applications can be found on line at http://campcadettroopl.com or by stopping at any of the Troop L stations which are Reading, Hamburg, Jonestown, Frackville, and Schuylkill Haven.

Applications must be returned by May 31, 2017.
