New Hanover Township is getting ready to host their first ever food truck festival and Recreation Director Connie Garner says it won’t be the last.

With approval from the Board of Supervisors, the Hickory Park Food Truck Fest will be held on Saturday, May 20, from noon to 5 p.m. The festival is part of the committee’s goal to increase their offering of more “adult-friendly” events.

Garner credits new members of the Recreation Committee for some of the different events coming to the township and says a food truck festival is something the committee has been talking about for quite some time.

Eight food trucks, including Sly Fox Brewery, are set to participate.

With the event right around the corner, Garner says she is very excited and more than 2,000 have RSVP’d to the event on Facebook. “We receive similar attendance for Fall Frolic. She said their also trying to tie-in pulls for older individuals for that fall event, which in the past has been primarily designed for smaller children.

In addition to the food trucks, there will music, vendors, and a mechanical bull. Hickory Park is located at 2140 Big Road, Gilbertsville.
