The Kempton Fair – the one you remember from years ago, starting in 1957 – is alive and well and living in beautiful Kempton.

Sponsored by the Kempton Community Center, the event is set for June 15, 16 and 17. The refurbished event brings new energy and new direction, but with more of the old-timey feel of yesteryear.

The Kempton Country Fair of recent years, an organization separate from Kempton Community Center, has changed its name and location to Mountain Springs Country Fair in Shartlesville to be held in June.

For the Kempton Fair, we’re bringing back all the great stuff fair-goers love, such as three evenings of tractor and truck power pulls and drags; popular musical talents Crazy Hearts, Scott Marshall & Marshall’s Highway, and the Hannah Violet Trio; livestock exhibitions; baking contests; fireworks; interactive attractions for the youngsters, such as Middle-earth Children’s Theater; and much more. Then there’s the food!

And perhaps you will want to take part in the Kempton’s Got Talent competition on Thursday evening. There is a 13-19 age group and a 20-and-above age group. Auditions are on June 3 at Kempton Community Center. On Friday evening, get yourself up for the Willie Nelson Look-Alike Contest. There will be prizes for age groups and eras. Willie Nelson appeared at the Kempton Fair on June 17, 1967.

Admission is $8 a person on Thursday and Friday evenings (ages 10 and under are free) and $10 a carload (one person per seatbelt) on Saturday.
