For the first time in the team’s 30-year history, the world famous GEICO Skytypers air show team will perform at the 27th Annual Mid Atlantic Air Museum’s World War II Weekend, June 2-4 at Reading Regional Airport. The squadron of six World War II-era aircraft will exhibit more than 20 different tactical maneuvers during their 22-minute low-level, precision-flying demonstration.

“The SNJs flown by our team were originally used as training aircraft for WWII and Korean war pilots,” says Team Flight Lead Larry Arken. “We consider it an honor to demonstrate the amazing abilities of these vintage war birds on behalf of our sponsor, GEICO, while sharing a bit of aviation history.”

Known for their thrilling airshow performances, the team also delights crowds by demonstrating the “Skytypers” portion of their name. Flying in a tight, line-abreast formation, five aircraft “type” dot matrix-style letters as tall as the Empire State Building that can be seen from 15 miles away. The result is astonishing to behold.

Based in Farmingdale, NY, The GEICO Skytypers Air Show Team has performed at air shows for more than 30 years.
