Shepherd of the Hills Preschool Board has selected Grant Kochey as this year’s recipient of the Peg Merkley Scholarship.
Grant is a 2017 graduate of Boyertown Senior High School, member of St. John’s Hill UCC, Boyertown Jazz Band, Boyertown Marching Unit, Key Club, and National Honor Society. He plans to attend Temple University, Philadelphia, and is the son of Ray and Tracey Kochey of Bechtelsville.
This scholarship fund was started in memory of Peg Merkley who was on the board of directors and actively involved with the preschool located at Shepherd of the Hills, 527 Hoffmansville Road, Bechtelsville. Each year the board grants this award to one student who attended either Shepherd of the Hills Preschool (previous director Dian Winner; current director and teacher Kelsey Herman), or previously Providence Christian Preschool (founded by Barbara and Ron Christman).
