Morgantown 10-year-old Piper Jameson collected donations for cats instead of receiving birthday presents.

“She absolutely loves cats! She was thrilled to collect donations instead of gifts for her 10th birthday party,” said her mother Erin Jameson Saltzburg.

Piper donated to 501 (c) 3 animal rescue, Zeus and the Kitty Cats/Fur n Feathers of New Jersey.

“Zeus and the Kitty Cats/Fur n Feathers was the recipient of many donations thanks to the kind and selfless act of one little girl,” write Lesley Wood and Sharon Gavin, Executive Board Directors of Zeus and the Kitty Cats/Fur n Feathers, in their Big Shot nomination. “She had seen our animal rescue pet food collection box at the Goin’ Postal store in Elverson. She decided to donate food, litter, and other pet food supplies in lieu of her birthday presents. We think she deserves a big shout out and a Big Shot feature to celebrate her amazing kindness and generosity. This kid rocks!!!”

Piper is a 4th grade student at Twin Valley Elementary Center in Elverson.
