The Allentown & Auburn Railroad will be offering unique events this Father’s Day weekend in Kutztown.

On Saturday, June 17, they will be running Beer Tasting Train Rides in conjunction with Saucony Creek Brewery, also of Kutztown.

“We wanted to offer something different,” remarked company president Mike Bast, “not everyone likes wine. We wanted to add something new and exciting to our schedule and this was the perfect kind of event.”

The railroad is offering multiple departure times on Saturday, June 17. The train ride through the scenic Kutztown countryside features 3-4 beer flavors paired with complementary treats. As part of the train ride there is also a stop at the railroad’s picnic grove where patrons will have approximately 30 minutes to purchase beer by the glass and relax and enjoy the surrounding farmlands. The total time of the ride including the stop at the picnic grove is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. As a bonus, each ticket comes with a collectible beer glass.

As a follow up to their beer tasting train rides, which are open to ages 21+ only, on June 18 the railroad is running their family friendly Father’s Day Picnic Trains.

This event again features the picturesque train ride, but the stop at the picnic grove features a buffet style picnic lunch. Ticket pre-purchase is required for the picnic trains and orders are due by June 12.

The Allentown & Auburn Railroad has been offering scenic train rides in Kutztown since 2015. Their roster includes many unique and historic pieces of railroad equipment. For their third year in operation they have added many new events for both adults and children alike.
