Fleetwood Police responded to the scene of a vehicle that had collided head on with a tree on Krause Road north of Route 222 in Richmond Township at 9:09 a.m. on June 13. Police arrived on scene to find the driver deceased.
Police have not released the driver’s name yet, pending notification of next of kin.
Fleetwood Police report that witnesses to the accident stated that the vehicle was seen driving erratically and at a high rate of speed prior to striking the tree.
Investigation showed that the vehicle was traveling northbound on Kruase Road when it left the right side of the roadway for an unknown reason just prior to impact with a tree head on, according to police.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt.
The roadway was closed for about two hours.
Fleetwood EMS and Virginville Fire Company and fire police assisted on scene.
