The Amity Township Board of Supervisors unanimously appointed Patrick R. Moore as its new roadmaster, effective June 25.
His annual salary will be $57,000.
Supervisors’ Chairwoman Kimberly J. McGrath and Supervisor David Hackett were absent from the meeting.
Prior to approving Moore, the board accepted the resignation of long-time Roadmaster Allistair Howell-Clarke.
Moore, 53, has worked on the Amity Township road crew for five years as a driver and operator.
He is a resident of Robeson Township.
Previous experience includes being a site supervisor, operator, and in land acquisition for Forino Homes, Sinking Spring, and as a project manager for Snyder Development, Canada.
Moore also worked in the private sector for 27 years as a project manager, equipment operator, and a CDL Class A truck driver.
“I am excited for the opportunity, as well as the challenges about the public sector versus the private sector” said Moore.
As roadmaster, Moore said he will protect spending by the township and take care of taxpayers.
