Shoemakersville Lions Club invited PDG Bob Argot and his Partner in Service to come to the annual Lions Club officers installation. He came bearing sweet reminders of their various responsibilities for their respective positions.

PDG Argot called Lion Roger Heckman forward, after having ascertained with club secretary Gary Rothermel all had been properly elected, that his duties included fines, humor and more, giving the experienced Tail Twister a Snickers candy bar.

Directors Richard Kieffer and James Seifert were summoned next, with the instructions to help other club officers, to make sure the club continues and works in harmony. Their sweet reminder, a Symphony bar.

Kenneth Schelgel and Brian Maroney will serve as vice presidents, along with the absent Pat Daly. Their jobs, to support the president. Their reminder of similar duties, a Three Musketeers bar.

For Lion club treasurer, Irwin Levan, who has years of experience in that position, with books audited yearly, the reminder of his duties was a Pay Day bar.

Reminded of his myriad duties, Lion Gary Rothermel was re-installed as club secretary and given a Mounds bar as a reminder of all the work that are his responsibilities .

Serving the club as president this coming year, is Lion Cleta Borkey. She was given the club gavel as a symbol of her duties and told one good ding was all that was required to begin the meeting and keep it in good order.

A Power bar was her sweet gift and her positive reply as to whether she would fulfill her duties to the best of her abilities.

The final gift was given to Immediate Past President Brian Maroney. He was presented with a Whatchamacallit bar, humorously suggesting that his name would be soon forgotten as his term ends; therefore, he would be referred to as whatchamacallit.

Asking the entire group if they would fulfill their obligations, the reply was a resounding, “Yes!”

Also serving the club as officers also are Lions David Geschwindt, Harry Sproesser, Mickie Sproesser, Pat Daly, Bruce Osterhout, Dennis Wagner, Steve Leibensperger, Warren Fleischel, Ed Carter and Elaine Clark.
