Construction is complete on the Lake Ontelaunee Bridge on Route 662/Moselem Springs Road over the Maiden Creek in Perry Township.

Beginning Jan. 26, 2016, the project involved replacing the existing four-span concrete T-beam bridge with a new two-span prestressed concrete bulb T-beam bridge. The project also included constructing a new retaining wall, reconstructing the roadway approaches and other miscellaneous construction, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 5 announcement on Jan. 19, 2016.

J.D. Eckman Inc. of Atglen, Chester County, was the general contractor on the $5,270,675 project. Traffic was controlled with temporary traffic signal during bridge work.

Originally constructed in 1932, Lake Ontelaunee Bridge was 179 feet long and 28 feet wide. The new bridge is 281 feet long and 35 feet 4 inches wide. This section of PA 662 has average daily traffic volume of 3,859 vehicles, according to PennDOT.
