“We are always looking for opportunities in markets that are similar to the markets we serve today,” said Fleetwood Bank President and CEO Timothy Snyder. “The community of Boyertown, the mix and types of businesses along with retail customer base share many of the same attributes as the communities we already serve. We believe we will have a positive impact on the residents, businesses and communities of Boyertown and surrounding areas.”

The new branch is expected to open next month.

“We have settlement in July and hope to open the doors sometime mid-August,” said Kristen Kintzer, marketing officer for Fleetwood Bank. “Since National Penn was purchased by BB&T, Fleetwood Bank feels it can provide a service for that community – that being a true community bank, owned and operated by local people.”

Snyder said Fleetwood Bank is the only community bank headquartered in Berks County.

“Our decisions are made by people living and working in the communities we serve,” said Snyder. “Very often we know our customer personally from outside the bank. We are able to work with our customers in understanding their needs because we are active members of these communities.”

Initially, there will be four people working at the Boyertown location.

“The team at Fleetwood Bank is committed to the financial and social betterment of their customers, neighbors and communities. Our bankers are involved where they live and work through personal financial commitment, volunteerism, economic development and non-profit service,” said Snyder. “Our teams’ dedication to the betterment of the local communities, serve as the economic engine to allow our communities to prosper and thrive. We are able differentiate ourselves from the large banks through our understanding of local needs and the commitment to bettering the communities we serve.”

Headquartered in Fleetwood, the state-chartered commercial bank has earned the 5-Star Superior Rating from Bauer Financial Inc., a firm providing ratings on banks since 1983, according to the Fleetwood Bank website, www.fleetwoodbank.com. Chartered in 1934, Fleetwood Bank has six offices in Berks County: Blandon, Fleetwood, Kutztown, Lyon Station, Shoemakersville and Wyomissing.
