A 13-year-old Fleetwood boy riding a bicycle failed to stop at a stop sign and drove into the side of a van at 7:45 p.m. on July 13, according to police. The boy was taken to the hospital for injuries.

Fleetwood Borough Police report that the boy failed to stop at a stop sign at Foundry Alley and Oak Street in Fleetwood. His bicycle struck the side of a van driven by Douglas Williams, 54, of Fleetwood. The bicycle became wedged under the driver side of the van.

The boy was transported to Reading Hospital for treatment of injuries.

Fleetwood Police report that witnesses on scene confirmed that the van driver was driving slowly at the time and that the bicyclist came out from a downhill approach and never stopped or slowed down, before going through the stop sign.
