Honey Brook Borough held its July Bocce Tournament on July 15.
Blessed with one of the nicest July evenings for weather, the Honey Brook Borough held it Summer Bocce Tournament with a Patriotic theme. Teams were first drawn from a hat and then the random teams of 4 created a patriotic team name.
The Bald Eagles soared to First Place by needing to win two games in the Finals against the Musket Balls, who finished second. Undefeated until the Eagles landed, the Musket Balls felt the claws of the Eagles and were shot down. The Firecrackers came in third. Losing its first game, they got their fuse lit and won a few games to be in contention for the Finals, but fell short and crackled out of the tournament.
Other team names were the Stars and Stripes, Valley Forgers and the Patriots, all names winners in themselves! It took 5 hours to determine a winner with many games tied up throughout each match. For more information about future bocce events, please contact the Honey Brook Borough Office.
