Two Allstate agency owners Michael Greene, West Lawn, and Toni Van Horn, Bernville, recently came together to secure $2,000 from The Allstate Foundation Helping Hands in the Community grant program. The grants will support the Tulpehocken Baseball Club’s mission to provide baseball and softball learning opportunities for the youth of Tulpehocken.

The agency owners earned $1,000 each for the Tulpehocken Baseball Club by volunteering both on the field and in the dugout. The Tulpehocken Baseball Club will use the $2,000 in grants to further its work.

“As small business owners and community leaders, Allstate agency owners and financial specialists see firsthand the opportunities and challenges facing the communities they serve,” said Bernville agency owner Toni Van Horn. “Giving back is the core of the Allstate Foundation; we believe that helping others is how we strengthen communities and improve lives.”

The Tulpehocken Baseball Club is one of thousands of organizations this year to receive Allstate Foundation Helping Hands in the Community grants secured by agency owners and financial specialists on behalf of the nonprofits where they volunteer. The grants support organizations addressing domestic violence, youth empowerment, disaster preparedness, hunger and other causes.

The Helping Hands in the Community grants are one example of The Allstate Foundation’s legacy of service and giving. Since The Allstate Foundation was founded in 1952, it has contributed over $400 million to support community nonprofits. In 2016, The Allstate Foundation gave more than $25 million to charitable causes.
