Camp Connect is a free bereavement camp for children and teens, ages 6-18 who have experienced a death of someone close to them. This four-day experience provides students with the opportunity to come together to learn new ways of dealing with their grief, and to meet other children and families who have experienced similar loss. The camp is filled with fun-filled activities, art, music, and games combined with grief education and emotional support. Specially trained volunteers and mental health professionals facilitate all camp activities.

The next camp is scheduled for the Reading/Hampton Heights area from July 31 to Aug. 3 from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

To register or for more information call Rodney Good at 610-987-8630 or email campconnect@berksiu.org. Registration will include screening to assess each child’s individual strengths and needs.

Camp Connect is offered through the Berks County Intermediate Unit and is supported by a collaborative partnership with Berks County Mental health/Developmental Disabilities Program, Jan’s Circle of Friends, local hospice bereavement programs, social agencies, and therapy dogs.
