HEREFORD >> Police are seeking help with identifying a suspect accused of multiple thefts from a family-owned roadside stand.

According to a release from Pennsylvania State Police, troopers are looking to identify a man captured in surveillance footage taking eggs and money from a cooler outside of a home in the 200 block of Hunter Forge Road in Hereford Township. Police said the victim sells eggs from the hens that her family and children help raise. They were stored in a cooler outside of her residence.

The most recent theft occurred on Aug. 1 at around 11:40 a.m. On that date, a dozen eggs and approximately $6 in change were stolen from the cooler. About 100 eggs have been stolen, according to the family. Due to the numerous thefts, the homeowner had only been leaving out a dozen eggs at a time, according to police. The family also installed a camera near where the cooler was kept.

In surveillance footage, the pictured suspect was observed looking through the victim’s cooler. Police say the victims have captured his image from previous dates as well when eggs and cash had been stolen. The suspect is believed to be driving a white transit-style van with an unknown registration. He also seems to have a tattoo on his right forearm, which possibly looks like a bull’s head.

Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity is asked to contact the Berks Alert Tip Line at 877-373-9913.
